One Database for Search and Analytics

SereneDB is a search analytics database: one engine runs full-text, vector and hybrid search together with SQL analytics. One inverted index per table, queried with plain SQL.

serenedb ~ full-text · bm25live

The term is looked up in the inverted index, matching documents light up and are ranked by BM25. Phrases, prefixes, typos and regular expressions work the same way.

Why SereneDB?

01

Real-Time Performance

Search and analytics on fresh data with low latency. New rows become searchable at the next index refresh, every second by default.

02

Search + Analytics in One Engine

Use search, SQL analytics, vector and hybrid search together, in one statement, on one index.

03

No Data Movement

Access and analyze data without building separate copies for search. The files and remote tables stay the source of truth.

04

PostgreSQL Compatible

Use PostgreSQL-compatible SQL, tools and workflows. Most Postgres clients and drivers connect without code changes.

Open source. The engine, the benchmark adapters and SereneUI are on GitHub.github.com/serenedb ↗

Built for Speed. Proven by Benchmarks.

SearchBench runs 92 search and analytics queries over OpenTelemetry logs on one node per engine. The benchmark is open source, so you can rerun every number yourself.
